Did you Know???
Cleaning Home Offices
When you operate a business out of your home or your employer requires you to work remotely, the IRS allows you to claim a portion of your monthly housing expenses in the home office deduction. The amount of your annual housing costs that are deductible is equal to the percentage you calculate by dividing the square footage of the space you use exclusively for your work or business by the total square footage of your home. Since you can include the cost of purchasing cleaning supplies or hiring a maid to clean your entire home, including the home office, multiply the percentage you calculate by your annual cleaning-related costs to arrive at your cleaning write-off.
